Hello blog followers:
I'm guessing we already know each other OR you're a mom, wife, Jesus follower, hobby farmer or something related. For those of you who don't know me I'm going to tell you about me, my family and our day to day crazy life!
My husband and I have been married for over 13 years now. We live outside a small town in Wyoming, raising our four boys & slew of farm animals! At the time of this post our boys are 10, 8, 5 & 3: life is never dull!
We currently have a 3 year old mastiff who's over 200 pounds, an old (14) schnauzer/poodle, 3 cats, ponies, goats, ducks, chickens, 1 fish and a plethora of snails in the fish tank!
I'm employed at our local school district and private school as a substitute teacher and I'm the nursery coordinator at our church. I also homeschool our oldest, clean house for a close friend and any other odds & ends that happen to come up!
I like recommending products that I love and I'm sure I'll include many from books to skin care to dye-free products and much more!
A few of my favorite books include "Stargirl" by Jerry Spinell (there is also a second book to this "Love, Stargirl" that I have not read, and it is also a movie and TV series, but I have not seen either so let me know how it is if you have!) , "You are a theologian" by Jen Wilkins, the book of James from the Bible (so many excellent life lessons/advice), "Homeschool Bravely" by Jamie Erickson, "Soundtracks" by Jon Acuff, and all the books I've read so far by Rachel Hollis including "Didn't see that coming," "Girl, wash your face," and "Girl, stop apologizing." I will admit-most of these I listed to on Audible when driving to and from places. I actually really like listening to the book when the author is the narrator; it really gives that voice to understand how and what they are saying.
I like lots of different types of music from country to Christian pop, modern worship, some classic rock and roll, all the best stuff from the Beach Boys to Lynyrd Skynyrd, Megan Trainer, Journey, Train, DC Talk, Mercy Me, Garth Brooks and Dolly Parton.
I took piano lessons from the time I was a little girl through middle school. I also took a semester of lessons in college. I was our church pianist for many years growing up in very small churches from Granger to Lovell, where my dad was the pastor. I have not sat down and played a song in many years now.
I also really enjoy working with horses and ponies. My grandpa bought me a pony when I was 8, and a paint mare quarter horse when I was 12. I showed in 4-H and FFA for many years, and also competed in Rodeo Queen contest a few years and road in parades and rodeo grand entrees.
My go to "hobby" these days is baking up a batch of cookies with my boys. Having coffee with my bestie or just catching up with old friends and family.
Thanks for stopping by! I'd love to hear from you, get to know you, receive feedback on my posts or anything else you'd like to share.
